Wai Kru

Wai Khru" is an old Thai traditional ceremony which has been performed by local schools for a very long time. The ceremony is important and respectful. Traditionally, it takes place on a Thursday.   The Thai Department organises this activity so the students may learn and appreciate the ancient Thai traditions and for them to show respect and express their gratitude to the teachers.   During the ceremony, the students present four types of flowers wrapped in a banana leaf cone. These selected flowers are symbolic of wisdom in the Thai culture.
