Our first Token Day!
K2 celebrated their first Token Day on the last day before half term. Each class had collected 100 tokens on their chart and to celebrate this huge achievement we had a Teddy Bear's Picnic. During the morning the children completed a variety of activities with their teddies, and also made sandwiches and decorated biscuits to have at the picnic. After lunch we all met in the K2 area to eat our picnic and play games.

Diwali Day
On Tuesday 17th October, K2 celebrated Diwali Day. The 6 classes rotated around K2 to complete a variety of Diwali activities including painting a diva, making a Diwali card, designing mendhi and rangoli patterns and also dressing up in Indian clothes. It was definitely a fun filled day!

Cafe Rue Visit
K2 have had a very exciting week with their first 'trip'. We all went across to Cafe Rue, next door to school to be Chefs, Customers, Waiters and Cashiers. It was great fun to role play in a real cafe environment and best of all the children got to make and eat pizzas! A big thank you to all the parent helpers who came with us and also the Cafe Rue staff who were brilliant!

Science in K2
There has been lots of 'touching' and 'smelling' going on in K2 over the last two weeks as we start our science unit on 'The Senses'. The children have enjoyed touching and describing a variety of fruits, printing with fruits and playing a senses game. This week we had great fun smelling some items hidden in a cup. We tried to decide what they were and if the smell was 'nice' or 'nasty'. The parmesan cheese caused the strongest reaction and the faces the children made were hilarious! Some children commented that they thought it smelt like a rubbish bin!

The First Week in K2
K2 have had a fantastic start to the new year! The children have all settled extremely well and they look so grown up in their new uniforms! We have had a very busy week as you will see in the pictures.

Art Gallery Visit
K2 have spent this term thinking about Art and Artists. They have had a variety of visiting artists who they have watched at work and they have also been busy creating their own masterpieces. This week they had the experience of visiting a real Art Gallery when we went to the National Gallery in Bangkok. This gave them the opportunity to see a wide variety of art techniques and mediums. They also talked about what they liked and disliked and hopefully came away with lots of ideas for their painting to go in the Foundation Stage Art Exhibition to be held later this term.

Bear Hunt
K2 went on a real Bear Hunt on Friday. After reading the story of 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' by Michael Rosen, the children set off ready for an adventure! Soon after leaving K2 we came to some 'long, wavy grass'. We couldn't go over it, we couldn't go under it, so we had to go through it! We also went through a deep, cold river, through oozy mud, a forest and even encountered a snow storm! After finding a sleeping bear in a dark cave, we rushed back to K2 to hide. The bear awoke and followed us and gave us a big scare!

Fit For Life Week
K2 enjoyed a fun and healthy fit for life week and now feel fitter and healthier than ever! We did an aerobics work out for 3 mornings with'M' (we never did quite work out what that stands for!) and 'The Goddess', we ate healthy lunches at the canteen each day, we made and enjoyed fruit smoothies in our classrooms and we talked about and sorted healthy fruits and vegetables. We also had our K2 Sports Day, which was great fun for everyone. The highlight of the week was dressing up as our favourite fruit or vegetable on the Friday. We all enjoyed the mass aerobic work out on the field with the whole of the Elementary School. Let's hope we can all keep up our healthy lifestyles now that the week is over!

Sports day 2006
The children in K2 had an amazing sports day. They all are really good at keeping fit. They had to kick balls, run fast, pedal bikes and tackle some obstacles too. Come and have a look at some photos of them enjoying themselves. The teachers had a pretty good time too!

Visit to Safari World
K2 spent a wonderful day at Safari World on Thursday 9th March. We began with a coach Safari around the park and had great fun spotting wild animals including giraffes, zebras, rhinos, bears and many water birds. We all enjoyed watching the lions and tigers being fed! Then we went on our own walk to see crocodiles, polar bears, wallabies and much more.
