I have started to make plans for this very exciting event later this term, but here are a few notes to get you started.

• Next week you will receive a permission slip for your child.
• The cost will be 370B and covers all food including snacks, the cost of having a nurse on site all night and insurance cover for your child.
• Please ensure that you have checked and updated your child's medical information and your contact details via the Parents Gateway.
• Here is a checklist of things to bring;

Sleeping bag / sheet / duvet / pillow (your choice)

Pyjamas / sleepwear

Cuddly toy to sleep with (optional)

Toothbrush / toothpaste

Towel / face cloth / soap

Change of clothes for the evening (shorts and t-shirt)

Change of clothes for the morning (non-school uniform)

Trainers

Flip flops / Crocs

Torch

• Please make sure that all personal belongings are clearly named.

We are now only 2 weeks away from our major fundraiser of the year - our "Timestableathon". We hope that the children are enjoying learning their times tables as well as managing to ask lots of people if they can sponsor them. If you would like another sponsor form then please ask your child's class teacher. The challenge is all about having secure knowledge of the tables so that you can answer as many questions in 5 minutes as possible. How many will be answered?

Please remember that the school is closed next Friday (24th May) for Visakha Bucha Day.

The forthcoming week (w/b 13.05.13.) is full of wonderful events and activities, some of which are as follows:

Year 5 Bring, Bake and Buy Sale - Wednesday 15^th May

Year 5 are having their annual Bring, Bake and Buy Sale on Wednesday 15^th May and we have been invited to visit and support them as we are their Buddy Year Group. We will be visiting the Year 5 shared area at some point between 08:00 and 09:10 to spend our money and help a great cause. Therefore, could the children please bring in a few coins / notes to spend on the items that the Year 5 children will have prepared and organised. For this event, the Year 5 children are currently in the process of collecting their toys, games, books and so forth and bringing them in to school to sell to raise money for their charity, the Good Shepherd Sisters. There will be lots of cakes to buy too! The majority of the items will be sold for 10 and 20 Baht,  with only a few slightly higher.

Year 2 Swimming Gala - Thursday 16^th May

Over the past few weeks, the children have been preparing for the Year 2 Swimming Gala, which is taking place this Thursday in the 25m Pool. The Year Group will be split into 2 lots of 4 classes and will take part at the following times:

08:00 to 09:30 = 2R, 2J, 2P and 2K

09:45 to 11:15 = 2T, 2M, 2S and 2E

We look forward to seeing as many of you there as are able to make it. The children really enjoy showing off the skills they have learnt in their lessons this year and the support you give on the day makes it that much more special. :-)

Year 1 Thai Temple Maths Fair - Friday 17^th May

Please don't forget that Year 1 will be holding a special "Thai Temple Maths Fair" this Friday, May 17^th, on the walkway outside Year 1, between 09:30 - 10:15. Year 2 have been invited to attend and play some mathematical games that the Year 1 children have been busy designing and making. They will need to bring in 1, 2, 5 and 10 Baht coins on this day, as each game will cost between 1 and 5 Baht a go. Proceeds will go towards the Year 1 charities - "Friends for All Children" Orphanage and the children of the Klong Toey slum.

As well as all of these fabulous events to look forward to there is also going to be plenty of Science (all about Electricity), Art, DT (both linked to the story of the "Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch"), Mathematics and Literacy activities going on in the classroom - a massively fun learning week!

Having heard lots of children talking about their holidays it is obvious that they have had a wonderful time away from school during the Songkran holidays. It was also clear that they enjoyed being back in school with their friends as well and that they were looking forward to the weeks ahead! We have another busy term planned, full of exciting and enjoyable activities ... both of the learning and fun variety! The children will be getting ready for things like the Swimming Gala on the 16th May and the Sleepover on the 20th June. Our entry point to our "It's Shocking!" learning theme is at the end of this week - check out the main Patana Website for photos of the event. They will also be looking ahead to the end of term when they will be closer to joining Year 3! But before that day arrives there is still so much to do.

Please keep an eye out for our weekly newsletter and notes in the Red Books as well as checking out your child's class blog for all kinds of information and examples of their learning.

The last week of term is here - where did that come from?! We have a great last week to look forward to, with our Songkran Splashing at the end of the week (Thursday and Friday) and the special Songkran Assembly on Friday morning in the Sports Hall at 09:30. You are very welcome to celebrate with us if you are able to make it along. (On this day, the children can wear a tradional Thai top or shirt or a Songkran style one instead of their normal school uniform top or shirt - however, can the rest of their uniform still be worn please.)

We would like to wish you all a wonderful holiday with your children and we will enjoy hearing all about their adventures when we see you again on Monday 22nd April, ready and refreshed for Term 3!

Dear Parents,

We are looking forward to meeting you all next week to share your children's learning in our 3-Way Conferences next Thursday, 28th March, after school and all day on Friday 29th March. Please remember that the Primary School is closed on Friday.

We will be celebrating Red Nose Day on Friday 15th March. The children are encouraged to wear something funny for money, to raise money for our Central Charity Fund; the suggested amount is 100 Baht. The children will hopefully enjoy the special assembly they will watch on the day and have a greater understanding of the reasons behind the fundraising and awareness of the plight of others and how lucky they are.
