The third Patana Student Convention will take place this year during the last week of term (Mon 25 - Weds 27 June) for students in Years 7 to 10.
For those of you unfamiliar with this exciting event, the PSC is basically when you get to choose your own timetable for 3 days at the end of term and sample a few of the many scintillating activities on offer by your teachers. This is your chance to try something new or different to what you would normally do in the classroom!
Sign up will commence on Mon 28 May and students will be allocated on a 'first come, first served' basis. Please inform your parents now about this event so they are ready to sign up on your behalf via the Parents' Gateway.

Mac users Running Windows 7 in VM
If you are a Mac user running Windows 7 in the Sun, or Parallels, Virtual Machine you must allow and give Windows time to update. You can check for Windows 7 updates, as shown yesterday. You should shutdown and restart Windows 7 properly, and not just close the VM, otherwise your Windows 7 will become corrupted and/or run slowly.

And Finally: Laptops Do Get Stolen!
Oh yes they do! A laptop that was stolen from school was not covered by insurance because it wasn't locked up. It's not just the cost of replacing the laptop that makes this so painful, it's all those files you forgot to back up, those settings you have tweaked to suit your way of working and the inconvenience of being without your technology until a replacement is purchased.
Do not leave your laptops unattended, you have been warned!
