How many of these maths problems can you solve?  Some are harder some are easier.  Problems where you have to do some thinking but you can solve it are just right.  Remember to write the information down - what is the important information?  What are you trying to find out?  Do you have add, subtract, multiply or divide?  Also remember to show your working.

It takes Eric Bloodbath 6 hours to make 1 Viking shield. How long would it take him to make 9 shields?
If it takes 41/2 hours to make 1 Viking helmet, how long would it take him to make 6 helmets? There are 16 houses in one Viking village. Another Viking village is double the size of the first one. How many houses are there in the second village?

There are 30 people at a bus stop. 10 vampires suddenly appear and each bite the same number of people. All the people are bitten. How many people did each vampire bite?
There are 4 caterpillars on a tree. Each caterpillar eats 9 leaves. What is the total number of leaves eaten?

You have a bag of 36 marbles. Some are red, some yellow and the rest are blue. If 1/4 are red, how many marbles are red?

How many yellow marbles are in 3 bags altogether?

sunflower is 97cm tall. after term1 it grows more 95cm so its nw 97+95 cm=192cm tall
after end of year it has grown half as much which is half of 192=(100+90+2)/2=50+45+1=96cm more. so at the end of year its nw 192+96cm tall=288cm=2m88cm tall
