Year 3’s Antarctic Adventure

Year 3’s Antarctic Adventure

Following Shackleton’s Footsteps

Year 3 students have embarked on an extraordinary journey through time, stepping into the shoes of Ernest Shackleton’s historic Antarctic expedition. Through imaginative role-play, each student has taken on a vital crew position aboard The Endurance, from ship’s chef and able seamen to officers and the Captain himself.

We’ve transformed our shared learning space into The Endurance, bringing history to life as our young explorers set sail for Antarctica. Like their historical counterparts, our students are maintaining detailed expedition journals, documenting their adventures and challenges along the way.

The beauty of this immersive learning experience is that our students don’t know how their story will unfold. Will they face the same trials as Shackleton’s crew? How will they overcome the challenges ahead? While the outcome remains uncertain, one thing is clear: this hands-on approach to historical exploration has captured their imaginations and promises to be an unforgettable educational adventure.
