Learning from the best
IB Art students enjoyed a unique and enriching experience, working with the celebrated British fine artist Ian Murphy over an intensive three-day workshop. Known for his tonal drawings and atmospheric, mixed-media oil paintings of architectural scenes, Murphy has inspired art students worldwide. During the workshop, our students explored Ian’s distinctive creative process, experimenting with his techniques and approaches to enhance their own artistic skills. This hands-on learning opportunity provided invaluable insights into a variety of artistic practices and allowed students to see firsthand the techniques that have defined Murphy’s career since his early success as part of the British Young Contemporary Artists in 1985.
The collaboration has excited the students to respond to Murphy’s work with creations of their own. We look forward to witnessing how these experiences will shape and inform their individual artistic journeys in the months to come.
