Busking Day!
Stepping into the Spotlight
Busking Day in Key Stage 2 was a celebration of student creativity and self-expression, inspired by the tradition of street performance. Designed to build confidence, encourage risk-taking and foster a supportive school community, Busking Day turns everyday spaces into mini stages, where every performer is celebrated. It gives children the chance to step into the spotlight and share their talents, whether it’s music, dance, drama, comedy or something completely unique, with a live audience of peers, teachers and parents.
Children across Key Stage 2 shared an impressive range of talents that delighted their audiences. From confident comedians and expressive drama skits to energetic dance routines and skilled musicians, every performance brought something unique to the day. This year, performance times were spaced out across the day, allowing families and friends to enjoy each act in a relaxed and supportive environment. The buzz of excitement and encouragement was felt across the school.
Highlights included a colourful Chinese dragon weaving through the Primary Hall, collaborative skipping routines, and a wide variety of musical performances. Many children overcame nerves to perform in front of an audience for the first time – a wonderful reminder of how empowering these opportunities can be.
Thank you to our community for your enthusiastic support and generous donations. The fundraising total will be announced early next academic year, once all coins have been counted.
