Community Service in Secondary

The CAT/CAS Fair provides students the opportunity to engage community service…

The CAT/CAS Fair was relaunched after two years, with Secondary students enthusiastically promoting and supporting their community service projects. Each club was given the opportunity to celebrate their projects and raise awareness of their cause by creating a booth and activity for the Fair. This year we were also delighted to welcome the return of some of our NGO partners: Rainbow House (CCD), Love Wildlife, World Animal Protection, Nightlight, Childline and the Mercy Centre. These organisations provided inspiration for our students to become active volunteers, and educated them about some really important local and global issues. Some highlights included conversations with students, who are developing themselves into ethical and inspiring global citizens – the change makers of the future! Here are a few words from participating Year 12 students:

“We are very grateful for the CAT/CAS Fair and the excellent opportunities it presented us! The At Your Service club is currently planning our biggest and most ambitious event thanks to the reach brought to us by this event!” Angela Li

“It was a pleasant experience meeting students and seeing so many of them wanting to volunteer. I am excited for what is going to come in the future with the SEC and many new students joining.” Sebastian Chai

“The fair was a great experience for DiabeOne, especially being a relatively new club, to reach more people and gain some new members from different and younger year groups.” Katie Cheng

“The CAT/CAS Fair was a great opportunity and experience for both me and my clubs. It was a lot of fun to share what I’m passionate about with the student body and I feel like we got to express our club’s charms very well throughout the day. We got a lot of new members and are really excited to start this year’s plans!” Tanya Sastrasinh
