Fun Run 2024
It’s always Fun at the FUN RUN!
Rama IX Park was teeming with Patana children and their families, runners and non-runners early in the morning (*cough 5:30am*) to take part in the annual Bangkok Patana Fun Run! 800 plus runners arrived in the wee hours, some as young as few months old – ready for the race. It was good to be back at beautiful Rama IX park. It turned into a ‘pick your own distance’ race as hurdles in the form of disappearing signage had runners pushing their limits whether they intended to or not!
The Dance Academy set the tone with their energetic warm up that had everyone’s heart pumping and ready to go. Our MCs Olly Blundell and Georgina Wright provided apt and humourous commentary throughout the event. Thank you to all our participants – your perseverance and support truly exemplify our school spirit! We were able to raise money for charity and all got out for a lovely morning run.
And the answer to the pressing question – Who beat Mr. Sammons?, maybe better to ask him in person!
The Bangkok Patana Fun Run has been going for more than 20 years. Proceeds of the event this year go to these student community engagement group charities: SEC (Student Environmental Committee), Habitat for Humanity, Smile Club, Hand2Heart and WeHearU. A special donation will also be made to flood relief in Thailand.
