Happy Lunar New Year!

Happy Lunar New Year!

Students welcome the Year of the Rabbit

The happy sounds of Gong Xi Fa Cai and Happy Lunar New Year have been filling the school all week as students prepare to usher in the Year of the Rabbit.

Dragons, envelopes with money, lion dances, dumplings, and of course rabbits, were part of this year’s Lunar New Year celebration activities. The corridors and classrooms were decorated with auspicious lanterns in red and gold. Students were also provided with many opportunities throughout the week to strengthen their global citizenship, including learning about how many different countries around the world celebrate the Lunar New Year!

Primary students learned about traditional instruments, the lunar calendar, red envelopes and much more at their Lunar New Year assembly. Gymnasts took to the floor and students shared how to say “Happy New Year” in their native languages. Drummers and the dragon entertained the students before the Lion Dancers came out and got the crowd roaring.

Xin Nian Kuai Le, everyone!
