Congratulations Grad ’25!
Grad ’25 – School is out!
The Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2025 was a celebration of academic success, combined with resilience, warmth and spirit. The excitement was palpable as 130 students walked in to the Rosamund Stuetzel Theatre to celebrate their achievements. This year, the celebration in the Theatre was especially poignant as the great grandchild of our founder, Rosamund Stuetzel, was one of the graduates. Dara Rodel received her diploma from her grandmother Ariane Rodel, who is a patron at Bangkok Patana School.
Tutor Purnima Ghogar walked across the stage not just as the Tutor for 13G, but also celebrating the 20th anniversary of her graduation from Bangkok Patana.
Mr Matt Seddon, our Secondary Principal, reminded the students, “Whether you joined the school in Nursery, Year 2 or Year 13, you are all an integral part of our school.” In gifting the class The Alchemist, Mr Matt shared a powerful message, “The path itself is as important as the destination… The treasure you were seeking was back where you started, but you had to go on the journey to understand its true value.”
Senior delegates added their own flavour to the event, blending humour with honesty. Ada reminisced about the “inseparable bond of friendships”. Thiti spoke of “opportunity and wishful tomfoolery”, capturing the joyful spontaneity of school life. Max delivered thanks with a smile—to friends, families, teachers and of course, “the snack bar lady.” Sam reflected on the class’s resilience through challenges like “COVID, earthquakes, or the most difficult of them all, the IB Diploma.” Together, their voices represented the true spirit of this class—grateful, grounded and ready for what’s next.
Head of Year Mr Sam Stuart offered a gentle reminder to trust in one’s instincts and values, encouraging students to “always choose truth.” He also left them with a simple note: “Keep in touch”.
In a moving keynote, Mr Chris Sammons, our Head of School, celebrated the strength of family across generations. “Children grow from strength and from love,” he said, “…Patana is your second family.” He reminded the graduates that wherever they go, they are never alone—with over 10,000 alumni worldwide, the Patana family will always be there.
And as the ceremony came to a close, he sent them off with the words they’ve long awaited:
“Graduates of 2025, I now say for the final time… School is out.”
The day was not just a farewell, but a celebration of growth, memories and the many paths yet to come. Class of 2025, we are so proud of you—and we can’t wait to see where your journey leads. We will see you at the next alumni event!
