Loy loy loy Krathong

Students across school had a wonderful Loy Krathong day; celebrating by creating their own krathongs and floating them on the school’s Reflecting Pool and ponds. They handcrafted krathongs out of eco-friendly banana stalks and bread, decorated them with flowers and then released them (loy) to pay respects to the water goddess (Phra Mae Khongka) and make wishes for the coming year.

During lunchtime, activity booths were set up in the Secondary Lounge, where students could make their own krathongs and try a variety of traditional Thai desserts such as toddy palm cake, steamed pandan layer cake, and others. Both staff and students dressed in traditional Thai clothing, adding to the festive atmosphere. It was wonderful to see the community come together to celebrate Thai culture in such a colourful and engaging way.

Donations collected during the event went to support School Charities to support the Patana Community. The celebration was not only a fun and memorable experience but also an opportunity to give back and show appreciation for the community.
