New and existing parents were welcomed to school to learn more about Year 1 and specifically the mathematical learning that takes place
We welcomed prospective Year 1 parents and existing Foundation Stage 2 parents to an Open Morning focusing on Numeracy hosted by Assistant Principal, Mark Verde. Parents were introduced to Numicon, a resource that encourages children to explore mathematics using apparatus to understand and explain mathematical concepts, before having the opportunity to participate in a range of practical activities and challenges themselves. They then saw mathematics learning in action when they visited the Year 1 classrooms. To conclude the morning, a question and answer session was held for parents to find out more about their child’s next steps into Year 1, as well as prospective parents taking a tour of all the wonderful facilities at Bangkok Patana.
