Smashing records, setting personal best times and of course, having fun was the aim at Primary Record Breakers!
Our annual Primary Record Breakers event took place on Saturday morning with over 100 Bangkok Patana students from Years 4, 5 and 6 taking on this fantastic athletics challenge. Students competed over 60m and either 600m (Year 4) or 800m (Years 5 and 6) on the track before moving onto six Field event rotations of Long Jump, High Jump, Standing Triple or three Springs (Year 4), Shot Put or Basketball chest push (Year 4), Discus or Quoit (Year 4) and Javelin or Tee ball throw (Year 4). The aim of the event is for our keen young athletes to have the opportunity to get measured and timed to create their own personal bests with the added challenge of trying to break some of our school records some of which have stood since 2001!
We were delighted with everybody’s efforts during the morning, whether they were challenging for ribbons or just improving their own performance. A very pleasing three new records were set by Gui Chai in the Year 6 Boys Shot Put, Joshua in the Year 5 Boys Shot Put and Raichah in the Year 5 Girls Javelin. Congratulations to all who took part and many thanks to all of the parents for their support throughout the morning.
