After months of planning, the first groups of students from Years 3, 5 and 6 headed off on their Residential Visits.
Finally, the day of departure for the first week of Primary Residential Visits has arrived! There was much anticipation and excitement as students said goodbye to their parents and loaded their luggage onto the waiting buses. Year 6 departed first on their journey to Chantaburi where their outdoor learning will focus on human impact of the environment. Year 5 were next to leave for Khao Yai where they will learn more about rivers whilst Year 3 set off to Pattaya for their first overnight Residential Visit. Year 4 students spent the first day of their Residential week at school and will leave tomorrow for Kanchanaburi where they will learn about the history of the area and focus their activities on their Building Bridges topic.
Residential Visits are about far more than the curriculum though. This time out of the classroom and away from home gives students the opportunity to achieve independence and responsibility. It also the perfect chance for the children to try new things and be risk takers.
Brief updates on the Residential Visits will be published on each Year group blog. The second week of Residential Visits will start on 28th January. We hope you all have a fabulous week!
