Year 1 and Year 2 are known collectively as Key Stage 1 in accord with the English National Curriculum terminology.
At Bangkok Patana School the curriculum is carefully planned to ensure that it is relevant to the backgrounds and experiences of our international student body. The National Curriculum from England provides the basis for our formal curriculum at Key Stage 1, which is modified and extended to give a broad and balanced programme for all our students. Extra curricular activities extend the opportunities for students even further.
The curriculum is designed to meet the needs of all students in each Year group. Work is suitably differentiated to ensure that it is appropriately delivered to students of all abilities. This is a strong feature of the National Curriculum.
Aspects of the curriculum are explained to parents at meetings held at the beginning of each academic year. Also, throughout the year, Curriculum Mornings for Parents are held to explain different areas of the curriculum in greater depth.
Full details of the English National Curriculum may be found at: http://www.education.gov.uk/schools/teachingandlearning/curriculum
We extend an invitation for any parents interested in enrolling their children at Bangkok Patana School to visit us and take a tour of the dedicated Year 1 and 2 Building, located across from the Primary Office. Each Year group occupies one floor of the building, and each floor has its own Play Den, Information and Communications Technology lab and library of Year group appropriate books. Key Stage 1 students also have their own playground and playing field as well as sharing in the resources of the wider school.
