Wrapping Up Term 2 with Songkran Spirit

A Splash of Culture and Celebration

What better way to end an exciting and fun-filled Term 2 than with a week bursting with colour, culture and community spirit? Our campus came alive as both Primary and Secondary students came together to celebrate Songkran—Thailand’s traditional New Year.

The week was packed with hands-on cultural activities, and it all built up to one unforgettable highlight: the Songkran Assembly. There was music, laughter, dancing and a whole lot of joy as students took part in the Rod Nam Dam Hua ceremony, a beautiful Thai tradition where scented water is gently poured over the hands and feet of elders to ask for blessings. It was a moment of respect, gratitude, and togetherness.

But that’s not all! Our talented Secondary students lit up the stage with a graceful Rum Thai dance performance, and just when we thought it couldn’t get better—Moo Deng made a surprise appearance, much to the delight of the crowd!

The assembly wasn’t just about Songkran—it was also a chance to celebrate our students’ achievements this term. Phuket House was crowned Term 2 champions, riding high on the leaderboard! And then, just as we thought it was over, Grad’25 pulled off an epic flash mob, adding the perfect burst of fun and emotion to mark the end of their Secondary school journey. What a moment!

Secondary Principal Matt Seddon wrapped things up with warm words, with a special appreciation award to Year 11 student Dan Baker for his exemplary character helping out a family during an emergency. He praised students for their kindness, spirit and community vibe, sending everyone off with heartfelt wishes for a joyful Songkran.

Wishing our Community a Happy Songkran!
