Bangkok Patana Medical Service: Ready for Academic Year 2026/27

By Kiera (Nurse Joe) Augsorntip, Medical Service Manager

Before students returned for the 2026/27 academic year, the Bangkok Patana Medical Service Team strengthened emergency readiness through annual refresher training and practical response exercises. These activities help ensure that our staff, equipment and communication systems are prepared to support the school community.

A Community Ready to Respond

Emergency preparedness is a shared responsibility. Through regular drills, professional development and practical training opportunities for staff and parents, the Medical Services team continues to build confidence, strengthen coordination and support a safer environment for everyone.

Code Blue and Ambulance Drill

The Medical Service Team successfully completed Code Blue and ambulance drills, covering the full emergency response pathway. Nurses reached the simulated scene within the target time of 2–5 minutes, and the ambulance transfer process was completed smoothly.

Emergency First Aid Response Refresher

Our nurses also completed the Emergency First Aid Response refresher training, combining clinical review with practical, scenario-based learning. The session reinforced CPR and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use, casualty assessment, first aid priorities and safe teamwork so that the team can respond with confidence and consistency across the campus.

Basic Life Support for Sports and Activities Teams

Coaches and staff from the Sports and Activities teams completed CPR and Basic Life Support training delivered by Bangkok Hospital. This highly successful session combined clear instruction with hands-on practice, helping participants recognise a medical emergency, begin high-quality CPR and use an automated external defibrillator (AED). We sincerely thank Bangkok Hospital for its expert instruction and valued support in strengthening emergency preparedness across our school community.

Parents Empowered with Life-Saving Skills

Following positive feedback from last year’s parent sessions, we are pleased to offer another practical CPR and Basic Life Support training session. Parents are warmly invited to join us and develop essential skills and confidence to respond to a medical emergency.

Parents particularly appreciated the hands-on practice, the instructors’ clear and engaging teaching style, and the supportive learning environment. This successful collaboration with Bangkok Hospital continues in the 2026/27 academic year, helping more members of our community become better prepared for medical emergencies.

Upcoming Parent CPR and Basic Life Support Training

Parents are warmly invited to register for our upcoming CPR and Basic Life Support session. The workshop will provide practical learning in small groups, supported by experienced instructors.
