What book do you recommend and why?
I have recently read the Cerulean Chronicles by TJ Klune: The House in the Cerulean Sea followed by Somewhere Beyond the Sea. I loved both books so much! The first story follows Linus Baker, a rule following caseworker sent to investigate a magical orphanage filled with extraordinary children. The children are magical, unusual and completely unforgettable! What begins as an inspection turns into something much more heartwarming. The sequel continues the journey of this unlikely family as they face new challenges together.
These books are full of warmth, humour and heart – I found myself smiling at the wonderful, heart-warming writing throughout. However, there are also powerful messages about belonging, acceptance and courage which are tackled in a hopeful and uplifting way. I would definitely recommend them to anyone aged 12+ who enjoys magical stories with plenty of heart!

Where do you work/teach?
