A Season of Growth and Achievement
Term 1 has been an outstanding period for the Bangkok Patana School Golf Programmne, with 35 dedicated golfers across our Senior Team and Junior Squad making significant strides in their development. From local ISGT competitions to international SEASAC success, our students have embraced every opportunity to test and refine their skills.
ISGT Competition Success
Throughout Term 1, students representing the BPS Golf Team competed in both the Development and Main Draw divisions across all four ISGT competitions. We’ve been particularly pleased with notable performances from Charn, Hei Hei, Tonsol, JinJin Dalila and Lauren, who have consistently demonstrated improvement and competitive spirit.
What’s been most encouraging is seeing our golfers actively seeking out competitive opportunities, not just in ISGT events but also in local and national weekend competitions. This willingness to test their skills in various settings and embrace the spirit of competition is essential for their development as complete golfers. Each tournament provides invaluable experience in managing pressure, adapting to different courses, and learning to compete at progressively higher levels.

Season 1 Training Focus
Our Season 1 training, which ran from August through mid-November, concentrated on three key areas:
- Course Management: Making smart decisions and strategic choices on the course
- Target Setting: Developing SMARTER targets to help students and coaches focus their golfing development
- Short Game: More recently, we’ve emphasized chipping and putting around the green.
These fundamentals have provided our golfers with the tools to navigate competitive rounds more effectively and set the foundation for continued improvement.
A Moment to Remember
During one of our Thursday Course Sessions at Siam Country Club, we witnessed something truly special – JJ recorded a hole in one! Congratulations to JJ on this remarkable achievement that every golfer dreams of. It was a fantastic moment for the entire team to celebrate.
SEASAC Golf – Jakarta
The highlight of Term 1 came at the end of Season 1, when 12 of our senior players travelled to Jakarta for SEASAC Golf. Hosted by British School of Jakarta at the Damai Indah Golf – BSD Course, designed by golfing legend Jack Nicklaus, the event provided excellent facilities, great weather, and an all-around brilliant experience for our team.
Boys’ Division: Our Boys finished in a respectable 5th place overall in a highly competitive field. The team showed tremendous potential and believe they could have contended for the tournament title had they found their scoring touch on Day 2. Special mention goes to Vince and Year 13 Captain Paul for their outstanding individual performances that contributed to the team effort.
Girls’ Division: Our Girls delivered an exceptional performance, finishing 2nd overall in the team event. Shane was a standout performer, achieving 3rd place individually. Thank you to Captain Claire for her leadership in guiding the team throughout the week and to Year 13 student Kaede for embodying Tiger Spirit every day of competition.
A huge thank you to all the parents who travelled to Jakarta and supported the team. Your presence and encouragement made a real difference to our golfers.

Season 2 and Beyond
As we progress through Season 2, we’ve continued to develop course management, shot routines and short game skills while adding an important new dimension: rules education. We’ve incorporated rules quizzes into our training sessions and are working to correct any scoring or rule infringements to ensure our golfers compete with complete knowledge and integrity.
Looking Ahead
The competitive calendar remains busy with exciting opportunities on the horizon:
Term 2 Events:
- BPS Hosted ISGT Event at Thai Country Club: Monday, 9th February 2026
- FOBOSIA Golf, Manila: 15th – 19th March 2026
These events will provide our golfers with continued opportunities to represent BPS, test their skills against regional competition, and build on the momentum established in Term 1.
Thank you to all our golfers, parents, coaches and supporters for making Term 1 such a successful period. The dedication, improvement, and competitive spirit displayed by our students has been exceptional, and we look forward to building on these achievements throughout the remainder of the season.
