Year 12 Revision Workshop

Year 12 Revision Workshop

Revision reminders for Year 12

Year 12 students participated in a revision workshop during their tutorial period, intended to provide insightful advice on how to successfully move through this next stage of their academic journeys. Led by Ms Blackman and Ms Richards, the discussion started off with a survey that helped students to reflect on their own revision habits and to gauge their levels of understanding about the revision process. Some students expressed that having been so deeply involved in the IB coursework left their revision skills lacking, so this workshop was the perfect way to get back on track.

Small groups of Year 12 students were asked to list revision tips they had received in order from most to least important. An insightful activity, this encouraged the students to discuss, compare and contrast how certain pieces of advice had helped them through their previous revisions. While some of the tips and suggestions were expected, such as getting a good night’s sleep or eating healthy foods; others were more surprising, including to study for shorter periods of time in order to maximise focus and retention. Year 12 students are now prepared and motivated to revise more effectively. We wish them the best of luck!
