Little Rainforest Explorers in Year 5
A fern-tastic journey starts here..
Last week, Year 5 set off on their first big adventure – becoming Rainforest Explorers! After researching the different layers of the rainforest and the abundance of life thriving there, the children transformed their classrooms into colourful jungles, complete with twisting vines, towering trees and exotic creatures.
This term, their learning journey will continue to grow across a range of subjects. In Literacy, children will write reports, poetry and narratives inspired by the rainforest. In Science, they will explore various life cycles, while Geography will focus on the vital role rainforests play in our world and the threats they face today. Art lessons will see students sculpt their own rainforest creatures from clay.
The adventure will culminate in the ultimate experience: a Residential trip to Khao Yai, where our explorers will step into a real rainforest. Exciting times lie ahead for Year 5! We hope you have a fern-tastic journey through the rainforest as you branch out and explore new ideas!
