Supporting Learning in the Secondary Years
All you need to know about KS3 Curriculum
Last week, parents joined Secondary leaders for an introduction to learning in Key Stage 3. The session gave families an insight into what students will be studying over the coming years, how learning develops across different subjects, and the key milestones students will encounter along the way. Subject leaders were also available to speak with parents individually, answering questions and sharing more about the learning experiences on offer.
For many Year 7 families, it was an opportunity to gain a better understanding of life in Secondary School and the skills, knowledge and habits students will develop as they progress through Key Stage 3.
A highlight of the morning was learning about the Global Citizenship Impact Projects, which encourage students to explore real-world issues and consider how they can make a positive difference through their learning and actions.
Year 9 parents also received an introduction to the options process, helping them understand the choices students will make later in the academic year as they begin planning the next stage of their learning journey. Coming up on Wednesday, 9th September is the Key Stage 4 Introduction and Assessment Information morning. If you are Year 10 and 11 parents, do drop in at the Conference Centre.
