Today we are marking Safer Internet Day at Bangkok Patana School; a timely moment to pause, reflect and recommit to how we support our students to navigate the online world safely, thoughtfully and responsibly.
Safer Internet Day is an opportunity to complement the work that already happens throughout the year in PSHE, Well-Being, Primary Technology and Secondary Computing. In an era increasingly shaped by AI, online safety is very much a shared responsibility. It requires adults and students alike to stay informed, ask good questions and model the behaviours we want to see: being Safe, Curious and Kind online.
A wide range of activities took place across campus today. Students in both Primary and Secondary were asked to pause and consider what content is appropriate to post on Social media, via large interactive posters titled ‘Would you Post it?. Staff engaged in a fun quiz to win free coffee, lunchtime and after school workshops were led by Brian Taylor our Vice Principal for Technology. Our libraries featured informative displays, safer internet day bookmarks and laptop stickers sharing the Safe, Curious and Kind Online message. Throughout the school, classes were taking a moment to deep dive into our Digital Codes of Conduct and discuss how best to keep themselves safe in the online world.
We hope you will be able to reflect with your children on what can make their online world safer.
