Michelin Chefs and Fine Dining in the Secondary Canteen
Starting in August 2026 …
A planned transformation focused on food quality, space and student experience.
Starting in August 2026, we are raising our students’ culinary experience in collaboration with well-known and Michelin-starred chefs.
During the long break in June through August, an ambitious six-week construction project will modernise the Secondary Canteen, transforming it into a warm space inspiring culinary exploration and catering to the sophisticated palates of our internationally diverse student body. The renovation will include an exclusive area that will offer a fine dining experience.
An Exclusive Dining Experience
The exclusive dining experience will be available to only 20 students each day, parents will need to book in advance to secure a spot. Timetables for these students will be adjusted, giving them extra time to reap the benefits of this fine dining experience. Through this, we hope to foster etiquette and good manners in our students while broadening their palates and developing social skills.
World-renowned, Bangkok-based chefs have already begun working with our canteen staff to deliver gourmet-level meals starting in August. Chef Garima Aurora, whose restaurant Gaa is listed in the Top 50 best restaurants in the world and has been awarded two Michelin stars, has been training our staff to layer flavours thoughtfully (acid, fat, spice, texture), rather than relying on single dominant seasonings.
Chef Noom, the founder of Chim by Siam Wisdom in Bangkok (holding a Michelin star for 6+ years) and former Iron Chef Thailand contestant, has been developing menus and training canteen staff on choosing the right ingredients and table placements. He has worked with canteen staff revisiting core Thai pastes, sauces and stocks, to understand why they work, not just how to make them.
Chef Joe Sloane has been in our kitchens to hone the technical skills of the staff who will be delivering these gourmet meals. He is teaching them how to identify quality cuts, and how to improve flavour and texture through correct timing and restraint.
As part of this initiative, internationally recognised food storyteller Mark Wiens (@migrationology), has been into our kitchens to test the new menus. He will be engaged in this programme to experience and document how food culture can play a role in education and community.
Partnerships with more chefs are in the works and the full timetable of collaboration will be released by the end of June this academic year.
Click here to reserve a spot for your child. Costs are covered in the regular canteen programme in order to give all students a fair chance to participate. Primary parents may add their child’s name to the waitlist as we have plans to expand the programme.
Bon appétit!
And now that the clock has struck noon… bon appétit and Happy April Fool’s Day!
While Michelin‑starred lunches won’t be appearing on the menu just yet, our appreciation for good food and good company is entirely genuine. No jokes – our Secondary canteen is getting a renovation over the long break in June – August, and we are continually revising our menus to upgrade our food provision at school.
In the meantime, a humble thanks to these incredibly, talented and actual chefs who gave us their time and a hearty laugh. Do visit their venues to enjoy their wonderful creations.
