Record Breakers and BMAC Triumph

Here’s to breaking records…

Bangkok Patana kicked off an incredible athletics season with the annual Primary Record Breakers event on Saturday, 11th January. With over 120 eager students from Years 4, 5, and 6 competing, the day was filled with excitement as young athletes pushed their limits in running, jumping, and throwing events. From the thrilling Girls’ 800m race to razor-close 60m sprint finishes, determination and the Patana Tiger spirit were on full display. The highlight of the day came when Morris from Year 6 shattered the 200m school record, proving himself a rising star.

Building on this momentum, 36 outstanding athletes represented BPS at the BMAC Track & Field Championship on Saturday, 25th January. Facing tough competition from ISB and NIST, BPS athletes rose to the challenge, successfully defending their championship title. The Girls’ Team dominated the sprints, relays, and 800m, with Year 4’s Yoyo claiming an impressive first place in the U11 category. Meanwhile, the Boys’ Team excelled in high jump, long jump, shot put, and javelin, securing top finishes across track events. Standout performances included Punn B’s incredible second-place finish in the 60m against older competitors.

With a final team score of 660 points—with a 200 point lead—BPS celebrated another phenomenal victory. Congratulations to all our athletes for their dedication and sportsmanship. Go Tigers!
