Adam Peaty Brings Olympic Energy to our TigerSharks

Gold to Goals

On Saturday, 13th September, Bangkok Patana School hosted the AP Race Clinic with Olympic champion Adam Peaty, marking the first stop of his Southeast Asia Tour. Over 75 TigerSharks swimmers and 90 parents participated in this inspiring event.

The clinic featured three core components. Dr Tom Bates, a performance psychologist, led a session on mental resilience and strategies for thriving under pressure. Rob Norman, former British Swimming strength coach, guided swimmers through land training focused on bodyweight exercises and optimising body position for power in the pool.

The highlight was the pool session led by Adam Peaty and his AP Race coaches. Swimmers received hands-on breaststroke coaching and motivational insights centred on accountability, resilience and perseverance. Our swimmers enjoyed a special moment, being able to hold Adam’s Olympic gold medals, bringing their dreams tangibly closer.

The final swim session simulated Olympic-style race walkouts, with Adam leading the first. The energy on poolside was electric as TigerSharks raced with an Olympic champion watching.

The day concluded with a theatre presentation on long-term success in swimming, followed by an engaging Q&A. Swimmers asked thoughtful questions, soaking in Adam’s wisdom.

The event wrapped up with autographs and photos with Adam and his medals, leaving swimmers inspired and motivated to pursue excellence in their swimming journeys.
