Curriculum Conversations for Key Stage 3 Parents
All you need to know about KS3 Curriculum
On Wednesday 3rd September, parents were introduced to the Key Stage 3 (KS3) curriculum by Secondary leaders. The event offered a comprehensive overview of subject offerings, assessment practices and reporting timelines, with subject leaders hosting individual booths to facilitate one-on-one conversations. Parents, particularly those of Year 7 students, were given the opportunity to explore what their children will be studying and how subjects interconnect across the KS3 journey. For many, it was a first glimpse into the rhythm and rigour of Secondary School life, and the chance to speak directly with teachers was both reassuring and informative.
A key highlight of the morning was the discussion on Global Citizenship Impact Projects, where students learn to integrate the UN Sustainable Development Goals into learning through six cross-curricular projects spread across the year.
Year 9 parents were also given a brief overview of the Year 9 Options process, which will happen later in the academic year.
