Year 11 PE Students Discover IB and Career Opportunities
In December, our Year 11 (I)GCSE PE students attended a comprehensive information session to help them explore the diverse pathways available in Senior Studies and beyond. Mr Roff opened the session, outlining both the IB Career Programme and IB Diploma Programme, with the options available to the students.
The session brought together expertise from across the school community, with students rotating through four specialised information stations:
SEHS (Sports, Exercise and Health Science) – Led by Mr Blundell and Mrs Finch-Johnson, students learned about the academic study SEHS in the IBDP.
iBTEC First in Sport – Ms Allen and Mr Tyrrell provided insights into vocational qualifications and practical applications in the sports industry as part of the IBCP Programme.
Universities – Our Careers team, Mr Haughton and Ms Vechbanyongratana, outlined higher education options and entry requirements for sport-related degrees.
Careers and Futures – Coach Cindy and Mr Tristan explored the wide range of career opportunities available in the sports and fitness sectors.
Each station allowed time for discussion and questions, with students receiving takeaway materials to help guide their decision-making. The session concluded with refreshments and an opportunity for further informal conversations.
We hope these sessions will help our students make informed choice about their academic futures whilst encouraging them to consider the breadth of opportunities available.
