Primary PE and Sports Week
Confidence, Cooperation and Communication
Last week, the iconic rainbow tunnel was in place and yellow-and-black tape cordoned off the Primary field, a sure sign that something exciting was underway. As our students stepped through the school gates clad in orange and black, a buzz of anticipation filled the air. It could only mean one thing: Primary PE and Sports Week had begun!
PE and Sports Week sends a message to children that active participation is important for their health but also teaches cooperation and communication. It builds confidence and gives children a chance to shine, boosting self-esteem and resilience. For the community, it’s a wonderful opportunity for students, teachers, and families to come together and share in the joy of achievement.
From obstacle races to long jump, students from Year 1 to Year 6 had the opportunity to showcase their fundamental athletic skills in a fun, competitive arena. Years 3–6 rotated through a carousel of events, earning points for their class based on the distance, height or speed they achieved. Meanwhile, our younger students in Years 1 and 2 displayed some fantastic athletic ability and enthusiasm.
