Primary Performance Week

Primary Performance Week

Small audiences help to build confidence!

The Primary Music department has been alive this week with the sounds of hundreds of students taking part in Performance Week. Timetabled in their regular music sessions, this is an informal opportunity for any child to perform in front of a small, supportive audience of their peers.

The variety of music and instruments, including drums, piano, trumpet, clarinet, ukulele, guitar, flute, recorder, singing and even a live DJ, has been amazing! It is fantastic to see the confidence and enthusiasm of the young performers, some of whom are very experienced, but others who are just beginning to learn their instrument. Every performance is valued and celebrated. This week culminates in our Solo Festival on Saturday for which more than 200 children have signed up. After the quiet of the pandemic, live music is truly back on track!
