Performance and Mindset in Year 8 PE

Stronger Minds, Stronger Bodies

Year 8 students were energised this week as they welcomed Imprimis Performance, led by Edana and Vincent, into their PE lesson. The session offered a dynamic introduction to physical and mental development in sport, bringing key performance concepts to life.

Students explored how training, recovery and mindset work together to enhance performance, gaining insight into what it really takes to perform at their best. A strong emphasis was placed on developing resilience, confidence and positive habits, highlighting how these skills support not only sporting success but also overall wellbeing in everyday life.

A particularly impactful part of the workshop focused on staying active while injured. Rather than viewing injury as a barrier, students learned the importance of adapting and reducing activity levels safely, allowing them to remain consistent while listening to their bodies. This encouraged a more thoughtful and sustainable approach to physical activity, reinforcing the value of long‑term health over short‑term results.

The session left the students with practical strategies they can apply on the sports field and beyond.
