The drums were beating and the Sports Hall was a sea of red and gold for the Chinese New Year Assembly.
There have been lots of celebrations this week for Chinese New Year. The Primary Assembly was as spectacular as ever featuring a traditional Chinese Mask performance, dragon dance, Chinese drums and the ever popular lion dance. Other highlights were nine students offering greetings in their home languages including Pakistani, Korean and Spanish, Mr Kelvin from Primary World Languages explaining the joy and mess of preparing and eating Yu Sheng and the whole Primary school singing a rousing rendition of Xin Nian Kuai Le. Over in Secondary the Year 7 students enjoyed a wide range of Chinese themed activities in their World Language lessons whilst donning their auspicious red outfits.
We wish you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous Year of the Pig.
