Head of School’s Update 28th April 2021

Dear Parents,

I hope that you are caring for yourselves and your families, keeping safe by following the stringent measures invoked by various levels of the government. On Saturday evening, the government introduced 31 new safety measures to help curtail this serious third wave. In addition, masks are mandatory outside your residence – even if two or more people are travelling in a vehicle, they will need to wear their masks.

Within our school community, we have 15 reported current cases; seven parents, two staff members and six students. We wish them all a speedy recovery. A reminder that if you or anyone within your immediate family tests positive, please contact Khun Patama, our Head Nurse, at pach@patana.ac.th.

You may have seen that the reopening of Thai schools for the new academic year has been delayed until 1st June. International schools fall under a different division of the Ministry of Education, and we are waiting for more clarification. At this stage, the school campus will remain closed at least until 9th May.

We are fully aware that our families are spending lots of time in their home environments in front of screens. Here is a fun video on keeping good posture.

Do keep safe and well and I will continue to update you as the situation is very fluid at the present time.

Best wishes,

Matt Mills

Head of School
