Do you remember the 27th day of September? September by Earth, Wind & Fire played as the first Secondary students entered the Sports Hall as our Jurassic Park-themed hour of fun was about to begin, also known as the House Assembly. We feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to become House Captains as it has been a dream of ours since we were in Year 7. We guided students to their assigned sections of the Hall and the energy was wonderful. The music was loud and we knew we were going to have a great time. With everyone dressed in their house colours, it was like a rainbow sea of excitement. Our games for each Year group were high in anticipation for who was going to win and, to show the Secondary students a piece of what the House events will be like throughout the year.

The journey from our initial brainstorming sessions to delivering the assembly in the Sports Hall was a captivating experience. It felt surreal to change from being an excited spectator on the bleachers to organizing and delivering the assembly. This definitely stands out as my favourite memory from Secondary School. The feedback we received from other students and teachers around the school made all our hard work worthwhile. All my nerves prior to the assembly vanished when I saw the fantastic House spirit and enthusiastic response from the community. I highly recommend the younger years to enrol in this position, as it has been such a wonderful experience and I feel very honoured to get the opportunity to see this assembly from start to finish. I look forward to the upcoming House assemblies for future generations as I believe they will keep improving and will continue to deliver high-standard assemblies.
