Mindfulness Techniques in Year 2


Year 2 students learn mindfulness techniques to use throughout the day.

Year 2 students have added daily mindfulness activities to their timetables reflecting the school’s commitment to developing student well-being, one of our core values. Students will be learning different mindfulness strategies throughout the day as well as discussing the science behind mindfulness; for instance, the physical changes that daily mindfulness sessions can have on our brains. Fundamental principles of neuroscience suggest that meditation can have its greatest impact upon cognition when the brain is in its early stages of development, so it’s the perfect time to start! We hope that these techniques will enable the students to be well-equipped to deal with the stresses and strains of life in a calm and positive way.
