Mythical Beasts on Batik in Year 3
Year 3 are bringing their imagination to life with their batik creatures.
Year 3 students are learning all about mythical beasts… and creating their own using batik techniques. Their colourful batik pieces bring their imaginations to life. First, they drew their mythical, fantastical beasts on paper. Then, in D+T they learned how to recreate the drawings on fabric using glue. The next step was the dye baths using brilliant colours, they chose their favourite colours for their beasts. Finally, their imaginative designs were revealed as they scrubbed off the glue and bits of paper. As they hung their batik creations out to dry, they were excited to see their mythical creatures in full colour!
