Peterhouse Kelvin Science Prize Essay

Peterhouse Kelvin Science Prize Essay

Senior Student Maya Lemaire received a commendation for her submission

One of our senior students has impressed once again. On top of the already-demanding IB Diploma, Maya Lemaire has continued to demonstrate genuine care for the natural world in her leadership positions for both the Secondary Environmental Committee and the Patana Marine Conservation Group. Part of the driving force to preserve our planet is a genuine thirst for knowledge that Maya shows through her engagement with scientific evidence. Of her own choosing, Maya entered an essay for the prestigious Peterhouse Kelvin Science Prize, submitting her superbly-written 3,000-word+ entry on rewilding in Britain. Over 200 entrants ensured competition was incredibly high, maintaining a strong standard with which Peterhouse College is very familiar. Her talent was duly recognised, with the University of Cambridge college commending her essay, alongside just one other entry.
