Planting a Seed and Watching it Grow
Year 3 are germinating herb and vegetable seeds for the Outdoor Classroom.
After their visit to the Outdoor Classroom earlier this month, students in Year 3 gave growing their own seeds a try. They planted seeds of herbs and vegetables in their room and now just need to get them to germinate! Once they start to grow, they will take them to the Outdoor Classroom to plant and hopefully provide food for our local community. The children are learning about the different parts of each plant and how they grow. They have carefully observed and compared plants, researched the functions of the parts of the plant and combined the recording of this learning in some beautiful observational sketches.
