The Importance of Being a Good Global Citizen

Year 9 tutorials this week were a great combination of well-being and the importance of being a good global citizen. In The Hub, the students practiced Yoga and Outdoor Team Activities; a mindful and calming element of tutorials. The test dummy had a good workout in First Aid skills as students tried out their life-saving skills. Students are also looking at gender equality in education. Using the film ‘Girl Rising’ as a starting point, they are looking at the impact gender equality has on education in the developing world. ‘Girl Rising’ follows nine girls who overcome nearly unsurmountable challenges to achieve their dreams of an education. Year 9 students will be reflecting on their own lives and how they can make a difference for others.
