A Sweet Transformation
Year 4 Creates a Chocolate Wonderland
As part of the delectable ‘Chocolate’ unit of learning, Year 4 students have been busy transforming a shared area into a magical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory-inspired space. Through designing and creating fantastical decorations, such as giant sweets, golden ticket bunting and candy-themed props, children have been encouraged to let their imagination run wild. This creative activity not only supports their understanding of the topic but also sparks curiosity and wonder, helping them explore themes of invention, storytelling, and design in a hands-on and collaborative way. Importantly, it celebrates our core values of student agency and student voice, giving children ownership over their learning environment and the freedom to express their ideas. By working together to shape a shared space, students also foster a strong sense of belonging and community.
