Supporting New Primary Families on Their Patana Journey
Hello and A Warm Welcome!
More than 160 parents of new Primary School families already based in Bangkok joined us this morning for a Welcome Coffee Morning, an important and exciting step as families begin their journey towards Bangkok Patana.
The session was designed to help parents feel informed, reassured and supported as they prepare for the transition into our school. Using the RAFT framework – Reconciliation, Affirmation, Farewell and Think Destination – we shared practical ways parents can support their children through change and approach the months ahead with confidence.
Parents also met members of our Primary pastoral team and PTG representatives, whose support helped create such a warm welcome. It was a lovely chance for families to start getting to know one another and to begin building the connections that are so important in fostering a strong sense of belonging from the very beginning.
The small group discussions gave parents time to ask questions, share reflections and hear different perspectives. There was a feeling of warmth, connection and shared experience in those conversations, which reinforced an important message: transition takes time, and children are best supported when school and home work together.
As we look ahead to August, there is a real sense of excitement about welcoming new families into the Bangkok Patana community.
