Supporting Breast Cancer Care Through Action

Annual Pink Day in Secondary School was a meaningful reminder of the importance of awareness, compassion and collective action in the fight against breast cancer. Students and staff came together to raise funds to support CanCure, Secondary Community Engagement team, through a bake sale and a Dunk Tank, with all proceeds going to the Queen Sirikit Centre for Breast Cancer (QSCBC). These funds support essential initiatives such as the Slums Project, which provides screening and care for women in Bangkok’s most underserved communities. Last year’s efforts enabled a donation of THB 100,000 and this year’s contributions continue that vital work.

We also take this moment to reflect on the legacy of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, whose vision and generosity laid the foundation for QSCBC. Her personal commitment to improving women’s healthcare in Thailand has led to the development of life-saving programs and facilities, including Pink Park Village and advanced treatment options for breast cancer patients. Her enduring contributions continue to inspire efforts across the country to ensure that every woman, regardless of her circumstances, has access to dignified and effective care.

The Pink Charity Tennis Event extended this spirit of support, bringing together 96 players in a community-driven fundraiser. While the tennis brought joy and connection, the heart of the event remained focused on the cause, raising awareness and resources for those affected by breast cancer.

As October comes to a close, we are reminded that breast cancer awareness is not confined to a single month. It is a continuous effort to educate and advocate for better healthcare. Through events like Pink Day and the tennis fundraiser, we honor those impacted by the disease and reaffirm our commitment to building a future where early detection, treatment and care are accessible to all.
