Celebrating World Book Day!

A brilliant day of reading, sharing and exploring together!

Bangkok Patana went all in for World Book Day this year with a vibrant celebration centred on the theme “Go All In with Books from Around the World.” Both libraries were transformed into colourful showcases of global storytelling, featuring books in a wide range of genres, cultures and home languages. Students were encouraged to explore stories that took them far beyond familiar borders and into new worlds of imagination.

The dress-up element is always a community favourite, and this year offered endless possibilities. From beloved book characters to creative interpretations of genres and themes, students and staff arrived in costumes that filled the campus with colour and personality. Primary students were recognised for their originality, while Secondary took on the challenge of striking the best reading pose or finding the most unusual reading location—resulting in some brilliantly inventive entries.

Primary students who visited the Primary Library also enjoyed “Guess the Teacher Photos”. With so many disguises, it’s no wonder some people were tricky to spot around campus!

At its heart, World Book Day serves as a reminder of the importance of reading and the joy of sharing stories. Across the school, students connected with literature in playful, meaningful ways, discovering new authors, celebrating cultural diversity and sharing their favourite reads with one another. This year’s celebration showed once again that when we go all in with reading, stories bring us together—and a book is always better when it’s shared.
