How can we tell powerful stories to raise awareness of gender equality?
Over the past six weeks, our Year 8 students have been exploring this question through their Impact Project in Art, Thai and Physical Education – all driven by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality.
Throughout the project, students investigated how gender equality affects their experiences in sport, media, culture and everyday life. Through discussion, research and creative work, they reflected on stereotypes, fairness and representation.
The project culminated in a showcase event, where students shared their work and ideas with the school community, along with hosting a mixed gender Pickleball tournament. The showcase highlighted the thoughtful conversations, collaboration and creativity that has taken place over the past six weeks as students explored how they can help make gender equality more visible in our school and beyond.
