The Play’s the Thing in Year 6
Year 6 are performing The Princess’ Blankets in Readers Theatre.
In Year 6 students are learning “the play’s the thing” as they perform snippets from The Princess’ Blankets by Carol Ann Duffy. Students read The Princess’ Blankets and used their learning to create comprehension strategies. These include making connections in the story, asking questions and then making predictions. Finally, they took to the stage to perform pieces from the book, working collaboratively and expressing themselves fluently. Year 6 are learning how to analyse books they read and then imagine them not just in their heads, but in real life!
