Yunnan Dumnernchanvanich, CICM Thammasat University
Congratulations to Yunnan Dumnernchanvanich on her offers from CICM, Thammasat University, HRH Princess Chulabhorn College of Medical Science, King Mongkut Institute of Technology, Ladkrabang, Imperial College London, University College London, King’s College London, University of Bristol and University of Exeter. Yunnan plans on attending the Chulabhorn International College of Medicine at Thammasat University to study medicine.
“I chose to pursue my education at CICM, Thammasat University in Thailand since I want to study medicine and plan on working in Thailand after I graduate. By studying in Thailand, not only does this mean that I am closer to my family, but it will also prepare me for the common types of diseases people are usually diagnosed with in this geography/demographic. Moreover, Thammasat University is located near my house, thus making the commute more convenient. Ultimately, I decide to choose CICM as my next step in my education based on the career prospects and my university life.”
“Initially, I was unsure on deciding what I wanted to pursue at university, but I knew that I liked Chemistry and Biology, so I used this as my starting point. When I went on multiple work experiences/shadowing in hospitals in Thailand, I had the opportunity to see doctors applying their knowledge to help their patients. The combination of sciences and human interaction which this career offers made me realise that I want to pursue medicine. While it is true that this is a field that has high physical and mental demands, I find this challenge appealing and something I thoroughly look forward to in and after university.”
“Outside of my academic life at Bangkok Patana I was involved in not just work experiences but was also involved in PAWS Co-President, a co-leader of Scientia Magazine, Art Director for RISE and CubeCAre. I also enjoyed playing badminton competitively from Under 13 through to Junior Varsity. I took part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Bronze Award and enjoy painting.”
