Year 1 Learns Doubling Numbers Creatively

Year 1 students started their first week of Term 3 learning how to double numbers, what it is and why we need it. Mathematics can be fun and creative and the children spent some of their time showing that off. Doubling can be hard especially when you get to higher numbers. The children also learnt that doubling can be written as x2. For the tricky numbers, students made butterflies and hearts. They also used dominoes, Legos and Numicons to show off their understanding of doubling in maths.
