Year 12 IB Visual Arts students got the chance to work under former alumnus, Sculpture artist Jesper Kirketerp

Bangkok Patana alum Jesper Kirketerp visited school yesterday, not just as an alumni, but as a Visiting Artist to teach Year 12 students about sculpture. Jesper who studied at Bangkok Patana from Foundation Stage to Year 13, graduated specialising in IB Visual Arts and went on to pursue a degree in Technical Arts and Special Effects from UAL.

Jesper gave the Year 12 IB Visual Arts students an overview of sculpture and the students were eager to get their hands messy with clay. Sculpting with clay often involves supporting the structure as it is created and Jesper guided the students on the scale, form and composition of the piece as they were creating.

Jesper reflected on how it felt bizarre to be back on campus as an adult and seeing some familiar faces especially some of the teaching and ground staff.
